CAT Adds Air Charter Service With Investment in Mission Transportation
Commuter Air Technology (CAT), an AGC Aerospace & Defense company, is pleased to announce that it has expanded its commercial aviation services with its investment in Mission Transportation LLC, an Oklahoma City-based air charter company.
Mission Transportation will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of CAT. Terms of the deal, which closed September 4, were not disclosed.
The investment expands CAT’s operational capabilities to include civilian air charter service in addition to the military air operations, and civilian and military maintenance and logistics operations it currently offers.
Mission Transportation will operate out of Oklahoma City’s Wiley Post Airport and Will Rogers World Airport, which is also headquarters for CAT and its sister AGC Aerospace & Defense Company, Valair Aviation. Valair provides aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul services as a fixed base operator.
“We’re happy to finalize this acquisition,” said Darryl Wilkerson, CAT’s President who will also serve as Chief Executive Officer of Mission Transportation. “We’ve been working hard to identify opportunities to get into the charter air services market. “
Mission Transportation will collaborate with the Federal Aviation Administration in coming months for approvals to expand its charter air capabilities with additional aircraft in both numbers and types of aircraft it operates.
Mission Transportation operates with a FAA Part 135 operating certificate, which means it can offer unscheduled air charter service.
“Mission Transportation gives us the capability to provide an on-demand charter service for our customers,” added Wilkerson.
CAT delivers certified aircraft and aircraft modifications, including high performance and flight characteristics enhancements, commuter and high-density passenger systems and support, corporate reconfigurations and cargo conversions. With over 20 years’ experience enhancing the King Air models, CAT offers a full line of technical services, such as program management, Aircraft Maintenance Management, Engineering and Developing, STC Process Management and Airworthiness Certifications.
