AGC Aerospace & Defense is pleased to announce Robert J. Khoury has joined its Composites & Aerostructures Board of Directors.  The board is responsible for guiding the global manufacturing and supply chain initiatives for AGC.

“As we continue on our path of strategic growth, it is vital we garner the experience and guidance of successful and respected thought leaders like Robert Khoury,” said Jeff Frient, Partner at Edgewater Funds.

“Robert is a globally recognized leader in the aerospace and defense industries,” stated Jeff Davis, Managing Partner at AGC.  “His experience will be a great asset as we continue seek innovative ways to accelerate the growth of our composites and aerostructures platform.  We are very delighted he has joined our board of directors.”

Khoury is co-founder of B/E Aerospace, Inc. and had served as Vice-Chairman and CEO from April 1996 until 2005, when he retired.  Prior to that, Khoury had served as President, Chief Operating Officer and Director since its inception in 1987. 

B/E had one product and revenues of $3 million in its first year and since then the Company has expanded its product line to include aircraft seats, galley structures, beverage makers, ovens, refrigeration equipment, lavatories, fastener distribution and complete Business Jet Interiors.  Khoury helped lead the organization through 24 acquisitions, an IPO, several subsequent offerings, and today, B/E Aerospace is the leading Aircraft Interiors Products supplier in the world with annual revenues exceeding $3 billion, and is a market share leader in each of its product categories.

During this time, Khoury also served on the Board of Directors for Mar-Test, Inc., a provider of low-cycle fatigue testing for the aircraft, automobile and medical industries, and served on the Board of Nitro Leisure Products, a manufacturer of golf products.  Khoury was actively involved in the successful sale of both companies.

Khoury still serves on the Board of Directors of B/E Aerospace and remains as an active consultant to the Company, providing sales and manufacturing assistance.

Khoury holds a Masters Professional Director Certification from the American College of Corporate Directors, earned by completing a minimum of 90 hours of public company director education.
